Season of Giving
At Pallen’s Martial Arts, we believe developing strong character extends far beyond the training floor.
Each holiday season, our Pallen Tribe comes together for our annual Season of Giving, a three-month community service initiative designed to help our students experience one of the most important lessons we can teach: the value of giving, serving, and caring for others.
The holidays can naturally become focused on what we receive. Through our Season of Giving, we encourage our students to shift that focus toward what they can give-whether it’s a warm coat, food for a family, a toy for a child, or simply an act of generosity that lets someone know their community cares.
Each month, we partner with a local organization serving individuals
and families in our community:
Benefiting the April Showers Homeless Network, helping provide clothing and essential items to members of our unhoused community.
Benefiting the San Leandro Community Food Pantry, helping provide food and essential staples to local individuals and families experiencing food insecurity.
Benefiting special programs through the Alameda County Public Health Department, including programs that support mothers, babies, children, and families in need.
For our students, the Season of Giving is about more than collecting donations. It is an opportunity to put the values we teach into action-to practice compassion, gratitude, generosity, and responsibility to their community.
We want our students to grow up understanding that becoming a Black Belt is not only about what they can accomplish for themselves. It is also about recognizing when they have an opportunity to make a difference for someone else.
Every donation, large or small, gives our students an opportunity to participate in something bigger than themselves.
Together, we can help make the holiday season brighter for our neighbors while raising a generation that understands the power of giving back.
A community that strives together, thrives together. “
