INITIATIVE
The word of the month for the March Tip Testing worksheet is Initiative.
What Is Initiative?
Initiative means taking action without being told. It’s recognizing what needs to be done and choosing to step up and start. Initiative is about being proactive instead of waiting: beginning the task, offering help, or making the right decision before someone reminds you. When you show confidence, you show yourself and others that you’re brave, capable, and always learning.
Why Is Initiative Important?
Having initiative helps you grow into a confident, dependable leader. When you practice initiative, you build
responsibility, strengthen your decision-making skills, and earn the trust of others. You learn to act with purpose instead of hesitation, and you develop the mindset of someone who leads rather than follows.
How Can You Take Initiative?
✓ Start tasks right away instead of waiting for reminders.
✓ Volunteer to help when you see something that needs to be done.
✓ Take responsibility for your actions without making excuses.
